agnosis

Keftiu was the ancient Egyptian name for Minoan Crete. What the Minoans actually called it we don't know (since Linear A is undeciphered), but it probably was something similar to Keftiu.

The statuette of the "Snake Goddess" that I have used as reference was made c 1600 BCE and was found at the palace of Knossos. It felt a bit weird to draw it, since I almost never draw women with such figures (tiny waists and huge breasts). Then again, it's just a statuette - and it makes a quite funny contrast to the "real" female characters on the page. The real statuette has a small animal, probably an imitation of a panther, sitting on top of the headdress, but I skipped that since I just wanted to include symbols that could be linked to the Underworld as well as to the earth goddess.
